Joint Opposition Parliamentarian Prasanna Ranatunga expressed his dissatisfaction over the "SLFP 16 group" joining the Joint Opposition.
"We all heard how they criticized former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. They said they would make us walk along streets if we formed a new party. And now they suddenly want to join the Joint Opposition," Ranatunga said, speaking to media following a meeting held at the former President's house in Colombo yesterday.
"Even if they join the Joint Opposition, our voters will decide on their fate," he added.
The Parliamentarians also said that they should tender a public apology over certain statements they made on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
"However, the former President's take on the matter is clear. Our doors are open. Anyone can walk in or walk out," the Parliamentarian explained.
