The Road Development Authority (RDA) has come under censure for the ‘slipshod’ work it has done in the Thalgaswala area.

A video uploaded to social media showed RDA staff dispensing tarred stones into potholes on the roads, but aside from pressing it down with a tool, doing nothing to ensure the repair stays intact.

Commentators on social media have pointed out that according to procedure, the RDA ought to have poured tar on top of the stones, and run a roller over it to complete the repair.

They have questioned the RDA’s Regional Engineer’s Office in Niyagama, Thalgaswala ethic in misusing taxpayers money and demand the roads be repaired as they should.
