Senior DIG Ravi Waidyalankara has been reappointed to head the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division. 

Waidyalankara, who retired last month, has been re-recruited on a contract basis. 

A special Cabinet paper was presented seeking to re-recruit Waidyalankara into the Police service. 

The decision has been made despite two internal inquiries into his conduct.
