State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe too will soon be summoned to the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to record a statement, informed Police sources said.
They added that a statement would be recorded in relation to the money he accepted from a company owned by Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjuna Aloysius.
Former Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera who admitted he received money from Aloysius also gave a statement to the CID this morning.
The Attorney General's Department last week informed court that W.M. Mendis and Co., owned by Arjuna Aloysius, had paid former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe.
It was revealed that the company had paid the credit card bill of Mahendran spending Rs. 3.2 million.
It was also revealed that the company had issued a cheque of Rs. 2 million to State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe.
The cheque had been encashed by a security officer of the State Minister.
