2% Tax On Abandoned Land: Government Cracks Down On Dengue

The government has decided to impose a 2% tax on the value of abandoned land in a bid to crack down on dengue, Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya said. 

The move is the latest in a series to curb the rise of the viral fever that has claimed over 200 deaths and infected over 80, 000, as per the Epidemiological Unit of the Health Ministry.

The decision to impose a 2% tax on the value of abandoned land will come into effect from today, (10) the Western Province Chief Minister further said.
