Security Forces have joined hands with public officials and citizens to eradicated dengue in the Western Province.
The Army said more that 260 troops were deployed to aid dengue eradication in the Colombo, Kaduwela, Piliyandala, Hanwella, Homagama and Kahathuduwa areas.
Nearly 250 troops conducted campaigns in Gampaha and Kalutara districts in addition to the areas of Mirigama, Dompe, Biyagama, Kelaniya, Attangalla, Matugama, Wadduwa and Bandaragama.
The Navy in the meanwhile has engaged in clearing waterways in Colombo off garbage and other matters hindering the free flow of water.
The Navy had previously cleared waterways in theWattala, Kelaniya, Peliyagoda, and Kerawalapitiya areas on May 31.
