Former Sri Lankan cricketer Mahela Jayawardena has dismissed speculations about Charlie Austin, saying they were just 'gossip tales'. 

There was controversy on social media platforms yesterday with rumours that Austin, a British national, was 'micro-managing' affairs in Sri Lanka Cricket. 

Austin currently works as the Personal Manager of seven Sri Lankan cricketers, including Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews. He is also the Personal Manager of Jayawardena who is now retired from international cricket. 

"You have the answer in the question. It's a Gossip article," the former Sri Lankan cricketer tweeted, responding to a question if there was any truth in 'gossip stories' about Charlie Austin.
