President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday opened a new micro solar power unit installed at the Abhayarama Temple yesterday.

The micro solar power unit was installed on the sponsorship of Takima Tech Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd.

It comes under a plan, conceptualized by the President, to generate community based power across the island by installing micro solar power units in one million houses.

The Chief Incumbent of the Abhayarama Viharaya Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera, Minister Wijedasa Rajapakse, Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera, Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Kenichi Suganuma, Takima Tech Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd Director Niranga Hettiarchchi and many others participated in this event.
