President Maithripala Sirisena made an unannounced visit to the Negombo District Hospital yesterday, even as the town struggles to deal with increasing cases of dengue.
The President inspected the activities of the hospital and spoke to the patients as well as the doctors in charge of the dengue wards.
President Maithripala Sirisena promised he would directly intervene to ensure the hospital receives required facilities as soon as possible.
Negombo is among the worst affected by the dengue crisis that has claimed 200 deaths in the first six months of the year.
