Prevailing showery weather conditions in the southwestern part of the island are expected to reduce temporary from 28th June 2017, the Meteorological Department said.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Northwestern provinces.

Fairly heavy showers (about 50 mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in Kegalle, Ratnapura and Kalutara districts.

A few showers may occur in the North-central province too.

Fairly strong winds about 50 kmph can be expected over Northern half of the island and in the Matale, Batticaloa and Hambantota districts.
