Attorney-at-Law, Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekera was appointed Police Spokesperson.

He replaces Deputy Inspector General of Police Priyantha Jayakody who resigned last week citing medical reasons.

In a Facebook post DIG Priyantha Jayakody said he would be stepping down due to a 'prevailing medical condition' and offered his thanks for the support during his tenure as Police Spokesperson.
