Malaysian Prime Minister Abdhul Razak says his country is ready to start a number of new investments in Sri Lanka.
He made this remark at the official discussion held with President Maithripala Sirisena, at the Prime Minister's Office in Malaysia.
The Sri Lankan President was warmly welcomed by the Malaysian Prime Minister and other top officials.
A guard of honour was also conducted by the Malaysian Army in honour of the Sri Lankan leader.
The two leaders signed 5 M.O.Us pertaining to promote bilateral relations in foreign employment, youth development, tourism, Culture and Agricultural Sectors.
The Malaysian Prime Minister further said that the entire world is satisfied with the Sri Lanka's national reconciliation programme.
Malaysia will strengthen bilateral relations with Sri Lanka. The two leaders also discussed the measures to upgrade tourism industry between the two countries.
President Maithripala Sirisena said that his government is committed to establish national reconciliation and stable economic development in Sri Lanka. He expresses confidence that the MOUs signed with Malaysia will lead to revive the economic development in Sri Lanka. President Sirisena appealed to the Malaysian Prime Minister to expand Educational opportunities to Sri Lankan students in Malaysia. He also request Prime Minister Razak to provide technical support to upgrade the Sri Lanka's Agricultural Sector.
The Sri Lankan President is engaged in an official visit to Malaysia after 19 years.
