Wimal Weerawansa does not fully cooperate with the investigations on his alleged misuse of vehicles, the FCID today informed Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
They said that Weerawansa has been postponing giving statements frequently.
For instance on December 4 he informed that he could not appear before the FCID because he was required to be at a religious programme at Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. However the police post at the Maligawa informed the FCID that there was no programme on that day with the participation of Weerawansa, they also said.
The FCID requested the court issue an order to Weerawansa to appear before the FCID on December 28 and 29. Weerawansa's lawyer informed that his client was abroad and the day of his return had not been confirmed.
The court ordered that he should give a statement on those two days if he returns before December 28. If he returns later, he should appear before the FCID the day after his return and the second day after his return also, the court further ordered.
