According to Investing.com Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Services and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Fortress Resorts Plc (CM:RHTL), which rose 12.95% or 1.80 points to trade at 15.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) added 10.81% or 0.400 points to end at 4.100 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 10.40% or 130.00 points to 1380.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 24.72% or 568.10 points to trade at 1730.10 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 23.06% or 329.60 points to end at 1100.00 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was down 20.97% or 13.40 points to 50.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 61 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 23.06% or 329.60 to 1100.00.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.51% or 0.26 to $51.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.89% or 0.48 to hit $54.38 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 2.69% or 31.25 to trade at $1132.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 189.165, while USD/LKR rose 1.56% to 150.955.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 102.67.
