The Ministry of Finance says there is a significant progress in utilizing the foreign aid in development programmes. 

About 980 million US dollars of foreign aid have been spent on development activities during the first nine months of this year. 

40 percent of the money has been spent on construction of expressways and highways, bridges and other road development activities. 

Electrification schemes, water supply, health and welfare activities are also among  the development projects.
