Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe who addressing budget debate said he is ready to take any measure to safeguard the national unity of the country. All will be equal before the law. The President has the responsibility of ensuring Sri Lanka's identity and creating peace. The Premier said President Maithripala Sirisena is committed in this regard. Certain groups are attempting to damage the national unity. Such efforts should be defeated at the 1st instances. 

The parliament should be empowered for this purpose. The Prime Minister pointed out all parliamentarians should be given more facilities in this regard.
