National Coordinator of the dengue control programme Dr. Hasitha Thisera says there is a tendency of propagating dengue menace in the coming weeks.

Larvae of mosquitoes are found in many premises including schools, public places, construction sites and government institutions. The health authorities request the people to be vigilant on the mosquito menace and keep their places clean and to destroy possible mosquito breeding places. By a dengue control programme conducted last week, over 12,000 premises have been checked in the Western Province . 

The authorities have identified about 500 premises with mosquito larvae.
