Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne yesterday invited Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera, President of the Public Services United Nurses Association, to join forces with the government.
Ananda Thera is a known supporter of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He is also the Chief Incumbent at the Abhayarama in Colombo 5, where the 'Joint Opposition' used to hold different events until Rajapaksa's office was opened in Battaramulla.
Senaratne said that he was ready to iron out the differences between the Maithripala Sirisena camp and Ananda Thera. He was willing to even visit the Abhayarama to start discussions on this, he added.
He made this offer during the Annual General Meeting of the Public Services United Nurses Association.
