A rare Malayan Night Heron was spotted at a backyard in Thimbirigasyaya. The bird is exhausted  from flying thousands of kilometers and currently being treated and to be released to a wetland by Field Ornithology Group of University Of Colombo.

The Malayan night heron (Gorsachius melanolophus), also known as tiger bittern is a medium-sized heron from South East Asia. 

Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka request the help of the public to attend these exhausted migratory birds.
