The 'Aava' sword gang is masterminded by an ex-LTTE member named 'Sanna', police Terrorist Investigations Department told Colombo Magistrate Courts today.

This was informed by the TID when the magisterial inquiry against 11 suspected members of the gang was taken up before Additional Magistrate Aruni Artygalle.

The TID reported that the gang was receiving funds from the Tamil Diaspora groups.

The Magistrate ordered the TID to compile a report on the evidence against the group and submit it to court.

The 11 suspects were further remanded till November 30.
