Minister Rauff Hakeem today informed Parliament that a three member committee of ministers will be appointed to reconsider the proposal to hike water utility rates.

The announced hike was said to increase the water bill by 30 percent. However, critics pointed out that the prices are actually increasing higher than that.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced these hikes recently.
