Additional Solicitor General Sarath Jayamanne was appointed as the new Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

He received the letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

The position of Director General became vacant after former Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe tendered her resignation on October 17.

Deputy Director General Sunethra Jayasinghe was appointed Acting Director General.
