The government has allocated Rs 26,667 per one milk cow in an attempt to revitalize the dairy industry.
Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said that the government has already held discussions on importing 15,000 milk cows.
The total allocation is Rs 400 million, the Finance Minister said.
He also said that the milk cows will be given to farmers and they will have to provide two jobs each through their farms.
