Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said some provincial councils are failing to implement the decisions of the central government, as seen by their lack of response by some provincial councils to the Cabinet decisions regarding the placement of 3901 principals recently.
Addressing a gathering at the Education Ministry he said it was vital for the provincial councils to implement the directives of the central government.
He said that the provincial councils and the central government came to an agreement on balancing the teachers in national and provincial schools. He promised to address all issues regarding shortages of teachers in due course.
