The Australian Brian Shaddick and his wife were issued summons by the Colombo High Court on March 9 to appear before court to give evidence in the trial against Udaya Gammanpila.

Gammanpila faces two trials over financial fraud, based on complaints filed by Shaddick.

Meanwhile, the High Court also allowed Gammanpila to travel abroad, to India late this month and to Japan in December.

He is to travel to Mumbai between November 21 and 24 for a wedding and then to Japan for a seminar between December 9 and 20.
