With overflowing rivers, new unwanted visitors seems to conquer human habitation. Thus, a giant crocodile has invaded Welegoda village in Matara , today morning.
The 18ft giant is believed to be the largest crocodile found in Sri Lanka. The reptile is born with three legs, officials said.
Wildlife officials informed that the crocodile was safely released back to Nilwala River.
The Nilwala River, inhabited by large number of saltwater crocodiles, is a major conflict hot-spot between the humans and crocodiles.
