Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that some good governance ministers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party have started discussions with him on defecting from the government.

Speaking at a meeting in Udugampola, Rajapaksa said that the ministers are disillusioned with the government.

The Central Bank bond scam is the largest financial fraud in the history of the country, and it has disillusioned some in the government. Meanwhile the government is trying to blame his brother Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the creation of the 'Aava' gang in the north. Rajapaksa said that this is an absurd allegation.

Furthermore, he said that even the Tamil and Muslim people are now getting disillusioned with the government and some groups are in discussions with him.
