The Carlton Sports Network Chairman Rohan Welivita filed a writ petition in the Court of Appeals against the canceling of its terrestrial broadcasting license by the Secretary to the Media Ministry.

Through the petition, Welivita states that the license was cancelled arbitrarily with no inquiry at all. Furthermore, the legal provisions do not allow the Media Secretary to cancel the license, he also pointed out.

Court of Appeal today considered the petition and issued notice to the respondents including the Secretary to the Media Ministry to appear before court on November 16.
