Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka called for the establishment of a special tribunal to hear the case regarding the bond scam at the Central Bank.
Speaking to the media today, he said that the government cannot hide from the findings of the COPE regarding the bond scam.
The government should ask the Attorney General to proceed with the legal work regarding the matter and should establish a special court for this hearing, he said.
Ranawaka also said that the government has no moral authority to criticize the corruption of the former government if it does not investigate the bod scam.
The COPE has recommended legal action against former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and his son-in-law Arjun Aloysius.
