Eight companies have expressed their willingness to invest in the SriLankan Airlines, Deputy Minister Eran Wickremaratne said today.
Speaking at a press conference at Sirikotha UNP headquarters, Wickremaratne said that the former government made a wrong decision to operate two airlines, when the operation of even one airline was not profitable. The new government decided to merge Mihin Lanka to SriLankan as a result of this, he said.
Furthermore, he said that the government wanted companies to invest in SriLankan airlines and has been able to obtain favorable feedback by now.
