Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Sri Lanka has been informed that no Sri Lankan nationals were affected by the strong earthquake that has struck near Norcia in central Italy yesterday.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson's Twitter post, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Rome has informed the Ministry that Sri Lankans living in Italy are not affected from quakes. No injuries reported.

"Sri Lankan nationals in Italy may contact +39 3421254777 for assistance," the post further mentioned.

A powerful 6.6-magnitude earthquake rocked central Italy on Sunday morning, injuring at least 20 people, in the strongest tremor to hit the country in more than three decades.
