On receipt of intelligence, Navy arrested two persons with 7,500 Non-electric Detonators concealed in 100 packages in general area Palleimunai Mannar yesterday (27). The Navy suspects that, these detonators which are also used for illegal fishing activities other than it’s general use, had been transferred from India to the country.  

The arrested suspects and the stock of detonators were handed over to the Mannar Police for onward action.
