National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa refuted various allegations on the recent death of a youth in his residence, saying that the post mortem revealed the baseless nature of such allegations.
In a statement released today, Weerawansa pointed out that the youth who died was a friend of his son. Several friends had stayed with his son that night and watched a movie before going to sleep. Weerawansa said that he was absent from his residence that day as he was out of Colombo.
He added that the youth who died was a neighbor and a close friend of his son.
The post mortem revealed that the death had been caused by a heart attack. In that backdrop, it is regretful to see his wife and children targeted to mudslinging by political enemies, Weerawansa said.
