Army Intelligence Officer Premananda Udalagama, who was in remand custody over the murder of Sunday Leader Editor-in-Chief Lasantha Wickrematunge, was released on bail by Mount Lavinia Magistrate Mohammed Sahabdeen.

He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 with three sureties of Rs. 500,000 each. Furthermore, a travel ban was imposed on him and he was barred from visiting any army camp or involve in any army intelligence service activity.
