A 24-year-old youth was found dead in a house belonging to UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa today.

He was identified as Lahiru Dissanayake, a friend of Weerawansa's son.

This youth had been a frequent visitor to the house and had stayed overnight even before.

He had stayed at the house yesterday. Alarm was raised when he did not wake up this morning. By the time he was later admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital, he was already dead.

The Thalangama Police recorded a statement from Wimal Weerawansa's wife Shashi Weerawansa over the incident.
