Former MP Sarana Gunawardena's lawyers informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today that he is prepared to plead guilty for two cases of corruption filed by the Bribery Commission on his failure to declare his assets and liabilities.
This alleged failure occurred in 2006 and 2007, when he was Chairman of the National Lotteries Board.
Two cases have been filed against Gunawardena on this matter, separately for 2006 and 2007.
He was released on bail today and the cases were postponed till January 5.
