The new party to be established by the 'Joint Opposition' will be launched across the island in an auspicious time on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's birthday, political sources said.
Rajapaksa will turn 71 on November 18.
The 'Joint Opposition' hope to recruit one million members for the party. Electorate organizers have already been appointed and they will organize electorate-based events on November 18, sources said.
Several discussions are to be held across the island on the creation of the new movement in the coming days.
