The CID yesterday informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya that they have initiated an investigation over a camplaint of alleged contempt of court by UPFA Colombo District MP Gamini Lokuge.

Lokuge gave a statement to the media on October 19 when former Minister Tissa Attanayake was remanded over the preparation of a forged document. A complaint was received by the CID stating that this statement constituted a contempt of court.

The CID requested, and was granted, permission to obtain footage of the statement from five TV stations for the investigation.
