Jaffna University students launched a protest today over the shooting of two undergraduates who are alleged to have disregarded orders to stop their motorcycle when asked by police at a roadblock.

The two university students died on admission to hospital. Funeral of one student held yesterday and other to be taken place today.

Students from all the faculties of University of Jaffna boycotted lectures and joined the protest.

The students blocked all the entrance to the Jaffna District Secretariat demanding justice regarding the two students.The officials and public could not access the Secretariat due to the protest. Further A-9 road was also blocked. 

Inter University Students' Federation claim that Universites of Kelaniya, Sri Jayewardenepura,Peradeniya, Wayamba, Ruhuna, Eastern and Rajarata will be protesting tomorrow against the shooting indecent.
