The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal made by Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare S.B. Dissanayake to revise the title of ‘Divineguma’ Department back to the early title ‘Samurdhi’.

The title of the ‘Samurdhi’ Department was changed as ‘Divineguma’ by the Act No.01 of 2013.

Accordingly, the current name of the ‘Divineguma’ Department will be changed as the ‘Samurdhi’ Department.
