Department of Motor Traffic has decided issue the new smart driving licence to all the Sri Lankan driving licence holders.

This license will have a chip which has stored all data.

Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic, Jagath Chandrasiri stated that about 1.1 million of old driving licenses are still being used.
