Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake, who is in remand custody over the murder of former rugby player Wasim Thajudeen addressed open court today before Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris.
Arguing that there are no evidence against him on conspiring to murder, he requested the investigations to be expedited, given that he is in custody for over five months.
He and former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera were remanded further till November 2. Furthermore, the Magistrate ordered Senanayake to be transferred to the Prison Hospital from the merchant ward at Colombo National Hospital.
The police was also given permission to forward the bone parts found at SAITM to the Genetech for DNA analysis.
