Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has intervened to bring down the tension withing the 'good governance government' especially after the controversial speech made by the President on October 12.
Political sources say that Kumaratunga met with the President, the Prime Minister and Minister Malik Samarawickrama in a special discussion following the speech last week, before the President and Prime Minister went abroad.
