Power supply will be reduced by one sixth during the next week due to the repairs at Norochcholai, Minister of Power and Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.

The Minister added that power cuts could be necessary. The public will be informed of such power cuts, if necessary, on Monday, the Minister added.

Norochcholai power station was recently disrupted due to a malfunctioning of the transmission lines. The repair work has already begun.
