Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva said that the Sri Lankan Ambassador in Qatar Prof. W. M. Karunadasa will be recalled.

This comes after several complaints received by the Foreign Ministry from Sri Lankans in Qatar. Speaking with a local radio channel this morning, de Silva said that several warning letters had been sent to the Ambassador on these complaints.

Since it did not work, he personally called the Ambassador and adviced him, de Silva said.

However, the Ambassador did not heed to these advices, which made the Foreign Ministry decide to recall him, de Silva said. He added that Karunadasa had been informed of the decision.
