Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said that he does not conspire is secret and do not change after 'eating hoppers' in a clear attack on President Maithripala Sirisena.

Speaking at the 'Joint Opposition' rally in Ratnapura, he said that the CID will start following ministers and there was already a unit near his residence, noting down all who visit him. I call them to come over to my place and take down the notes, he added.

Rajapaksa did not conclusively say that he will launch a new party but said that he was considering the requests made by the people.

He added that the true Sri Lanka Freedom Party members are with him as he protects the Bandaranaike principles. Maithripala Sirisena has kept the SLFP near the backside of the elephant (symbol of UNP), he alleged.

Sirisena cannot ignore the party members for too long, and heads would soon change, Rajapaksa added.
