UPFA MP and member of 'Joint Opposition' Pavithra Wanniarachchi said that her father taught Minister John Seneviratne politics, but not to conduct himself in the manner in which he is doing at present.

Speaking at a 'Joint Opposition' press conference, Wanniarachchi responded to Seneviratne's claim that she had lied over the reservation of the Seevali Ground in Ratnapura for a rally on October 8.

She said that they had first reserved the lorry park but then also wanted to reserve the ground, since the crowds would be large. However, the ground was not given for the rally, she said.

Seneviratne yesterday said that according to his knowledge the ground has been given for the rally and that Wanniarachchi was lying.

On October 5, she had complained that the Municipal Commissioner had not granted them the use of the ground.
