UPFA MP Jayantha Samaraweera and Wimal Weerawansa's brother Sarath Weerawansa were further remanded till October 10 for alleged misuse of state vehicles during the government of Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Sarath Weerawansa was not produced before court today citing health reasons.
Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered him to be produced before court on the next day of the magisterial inquiry.
Samaraweera is accused of causing the loss of Rs 534,000 to the government while he was the Chairman of Housing Development Authority. Sarath Weerawansa is accused of causing a loss of Rs 10.5 million to the state by accepting rental for two vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat and the Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
