Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal appeared before the FCID to give a statement on an alleged financial fraud when he was Governor.

This development comes days after some government backbenchers demanded action against him over several allegations of financial fraud at the Central Bank.

Cabraal was the Governor of the bank from 2006 till January 2015.
