The National Dengue Control Week got underway yesterday in Colombo and Jaffna and will continue until October 3, covering the whole island.
Fifty six court cases are to be filed on the findings of the first day in the two aforementioned districts. Meanwhile, 956 others were issued notice on maintaining potential mosquito breeding premises.
Overall, corrective measures were taken in 2,311 premises on the first day of the program.
The health authorities have recognized 26 high risk MOH areas across seven districts, namely Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Ratnapura, Jaffna and Batticaloa, in this program.
